Walk With Ease (WWE)

Program Description: 

​Walk With Ease was created by the Arthritis Foundation to encourage physical activity as a form of pain management.

Walk With Ease helps participants to: 

  • Develop a walking plan that will meet their needs 

  • Stay motivated

  • Manage their pain 

  • Learn to exercise safely

Program Benefits: 

  • Reduces the pain and discomfort of arthritis 

  • Increases balance, strength and walking pace 

  • Builds confidence in your ability to be physically active 

  • Improves overall health 

Active SWV Walk With Ease: 

Active Southern West Virginia ​creates an ecosystem of physical activity for the residents of southern West Virginia by offering programs led by trained leaders from within the communities they serve. Learn more about their Walk With Ease program below. 

Program Delivery:

Walk With Ease can be completed through a self-guided format or in an in-person community setting. 

  • Self-Guided Format 

  • In-Person Community Format

    • WWE group sessions meet 3 times a week for 6 weeks​

    • Sessions include a pre-walk discussion along with a 10- to 40-minute walk (including warm up and cool down)
