The Safe Routes to School National Partnership (a national nonprofit that works to advance safe walking and bicycling to and from schools, to improve the health and well-being of kids of all races, income levels, and abilities, and to foster the creation of healthy communities for everyone), in partnership with the JPB Foundation, will be accepting submissions for their Safe Routes to Parks Application starting November 4, 2019. Seven grantees will be awarded $12,500 in 2020 to implement their plans of improving safe, equitable access to local parks in their communities. Active Southern West Virginia and the WV Div. of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease are looking to fund workplaces across the state to increase access to healthy food, physical activity, and employee wellness.
